Safeguarding Summary

Our Commitment


HomeBridge Tenancy Solutions is committed to protecting the safety, wellbeing, and dignity of every person we work with. We recognise that many of our tenants, clients, and community partners may be vulnerable due to housing insecurity, financial hardship, or health and social factors.

Safeguarding is central to our mission. We believe everyone has the right to live free from harm, neglect, or exploitation.



Our Responsibilities

We will:


  • Promote a safe and respectful environment for all tenants, landlords, and partners.
  • Take all safeguarding concerns seriously and act promptly.
  • Ensure that any actual or suspected abuse, neglect, or risk of harm is reported through the correct channels.
  • Work closely with local councils, safeguarding boards, and other agencies where appropriate.




Scope

This policy applies to


  • All staff, volunteers, associates, and anyone representing HomeBridge.
  • All service users, including tenants, landlords, and referring partners.


Recognising and Reporting Concerns


Concerns may include:


Neglect or self-neglect

Physical, emotional, or financial abuse

Exploitation or coercion

Concerns about welfare, mental health, or tenancy-related risks


All concerns will be recorded and escalated to the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) promptly.


Designated Safeguarding Lead:

The DSL is responsible for responding to concerns, making referrals (if required), and maintaining safeguarding records.


Working with Partners


HomeBridge cooperates with:


  • Local authority safeguarding teams
  • Housing departments
  • Support and welfare agencies
  • to ensure a coordinated response to safeguarding issues.


Where immediate danger or harm is suspected, we will contact emergency services or local safeguarding authorities without delay.


Training and Awareness


All representatives of HomeBridge receive safeguarding awareness training appropriate to their role.


We encourage an open, supportive culture where safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility.


Confidentiality


Information relating to safeguarding concerns is shared only on a need-to-know basis and always in line with data protection and confidentiality requirements.


Review


This policy is reviewed annually or sooner if legislation or organisational needs change.
